Alexandra Deshorties recently made debuts in the US in the title-role Medea for Glimmerglass Opera and as Juliana Bordereau The Aspern Papers for Dallas Opera. She was a member of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist programme and her roles there included Elettra Idomeneo, Fiordiligi, Countess Le nozze di Figaro and Donna Anna Don Giovanni. She has sung Fiordiligi and Cleopatra Giulio Cesare (Seattle Opera); and appeared in leading roles with the San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera and Houston Grand Opera. In Europe, appearances include the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. On the concert platform she has appeared with the Munich Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, the Milwaukee Symphony, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony and at the Salzburg Festival. She studied at the Marseilles Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music. Recent roles include Desdemona Otello (Dallas Opera); Fiordiligi Così fan tutte (Valencia); Valentine Les Huguenots (Bard Festival, NY) and Countess Le nozze di Figaro (Peter Mattei Festival in Sweden).
