Ashley Martin-Davis studied at Central School of Art and Design and Motley Theatre Design School. He has designed internationally for theatre and opera. Work in opera includes The Gondoliers (English National Opera); The Ring Cycle (Opera Amazonas, Manaus, Brazil); Cavalleria rusticana and I pagliacci (Dallas Opera); Capriccio and Daphne (New York City Opera); The Merry Wives of Windsor and Ascanio in Alba (Buxton Festival Opera); The Elixir of Love (Santa Fe Opera). Theatre work includes The Tempest (Manchester Royal Exchange); The Clean House (Sheffield Studio); 5/11 and The Gondoliers (Chichester Festival Theatre); Seven Doors, Three Women and a Piano Tuner and I Caught My Death in Venice (Chichester Minerva Theatre); Three Women and a Piano Tuner and Sunday Father (Hampstead Theatre); Tartuffe, The Winter’s Tale (National Theatre); Scaramouche Jones (Dublin Festival and UK tour). Future work includes Orlando Paladino for Theater an der Wien.
