Caroline Chaney

Revival Director Carmen

Caroline Chaney was born in Manchester. She has worked as a staff director for Welsh National Opera since 1991, assisting a great number of directors with their productions. During that time Caroline has directed La bohème six times for the national tour and for the Hong Kong Arts Festival. She has also directed Carmen, Madam Butterfly, The Magic Flute, Eugene Onegin, Turandot and two different productions of The Marriage of Figaro. During the 1980s she collaborated on movement with director Mike Ashman on Cavalleria rusticana and I pagliacci for Scottish Opera Go Round and Walton’s Façade for the St Donat’s Festival. Her career has also included stage management, puppetry, acting, floor management for the BBC, and company management for WNO and Glyndebourne.
