Daniel Grice’s most recent operatic roles include Schaunard La bohème (WNO), a role he has also sung in concert (RTE Symphony Orchestra); Flemish Deputy Don Carlo (Royal Opera House); Escamillo Carmen (Royal Albert Hall). He was a member of the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Young Artist Programme from 2010 to 2012. His roles in the 2011/2012 season included Wagner Faust, Hunter Rusalka, Marquis d’Obigny La traviata, Pinellino Gianni Schicchi, Soldier / Mercure Les Troyens (ROH). His roles in the 2010/2011 season were Enrico L’isola disabitata, Fiorello Il barbiere di Siviglia, Commissioner Madam Butterfly, and Wolfram (cover and performance) Tannhäuser (ROH).
His other operatic roles have included Papageno Die Zauberflöte (English Touring Opera); Bogdanowitsch The Merry Widow (Scottish Opera); Nick Shadow The Rake’s Progress (Aldeburgh Festival, with the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Martyn Brabbins); Prince de Bouillon Adriana Lecouvreur, Medico, Sicario and Servo in Verdi’s Macbeth, Leuthold Guillaume Tell (Chelsea Opera Group); Gottfried Die Rheinnixen (New Sussex Opera). Daniel’s current roles include Ephramite/Ein Mann Moses und Aron; Schaunard La bohème (ROH); Pastore/Spirito Orfeo with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques (Opéra National de Lorraine).
