Staff Director The Magic Flute

Deborah gained her BMus at the University of Leeds where she directed The Marriage of Figaro. Deborah studied as a vocal coach at the University of North Texas, and worked as Assistant Director on UNT’s productions of L’Egisto and La bohème. She trained as a Stage Manager at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. In 2009 she co-founded Opera’r Ddraig, for whom she directed The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro. Most recently Deborah was the Associate Director for The Turn of the Screw with Christine Collins Young Artists Programme (Holland Park Opera). Directing credits include Noye’s Fludde (Worcester and Gloucester Cathedrals), L’enfant et les sortilèges (Bute Park Opera), The Fairy Queen (Benslow Baroque), The Bear (La Mortella Ischia), Opera Scenes and The Nightingale and The Rose (RWCMD), Shadow of the Wave (Tête-à-Tête), Opera Scenes (WNO). As Assistant Director: Tristan und Isolde (Royal Opera House), Acis & Galetea (Mid Wales Opera), Maria Stuarda, Beatrice and Benedict and Jephtha (WNO), The Magic Flute and The Rape of Lucretia (RWCMD), Southwark Splash (Royal Festival Hall 2012 and 2013), Semele (Benslow Baroque), Madam Butterfly (Mid Wales Opera), Saul (Buxton Opera Festival), La bohème (British Youth Opera), Dido and Aeneas (Bury Court Hall).
