Emma Carrington studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. Recent and forthcoming engagements include Mercédès Carmen (WNO), Baba the Turk The Rake’s Progress (Santiago‚ Chile), Mazet in Gounod’s La colombe (Buxton Festival), Ježibaba Rusalka (Grange Park Opera), Sorceress Dido and Aeneas, Matilda/George Cautionary Tales! (Opera North); Schwertleite Die Walküre (Opera North), Salty Sue Captain Blood’s Revenge (Brighton Festival and Glyndenbourne on Tour), Farzana in Wagner’s Die Feen, Ursula Béatrice et Bénédict (Chelsea Opera Group), Beethoven’s Missa solemnis (Royal Northern Sinfonia) and Britten’s Spring Symphony (Salisbury Cathedral). She has appeared as La Zia Principessa Suor Angelica‚ Mother Goose The Rake’s Progress and Florinda Into the Woods at the Royal Northern College of Music‚ Clorinda Tancredi e Clorinda and Handel’s Amadigi at the Batignano Festival. Other engagements include Third Lady The Magic Flute for British Youth Opera‚ the Older Woman Flight (London premiere)‚ Mistress Quickly in Grange Park Opera’s Young Artist production of Falstaff‚ Frances Grieves Remembrance Day and the Cleaner White in Scottish Opera’s 5:15 project‚ Juno Semele at the Amersham Festival‚ Feklusa Katya Kabanova and Altichiara Francesca da Rimini at Opera Holland Park‚ Kabanicha Katya Kabanova for Scottish Opera and Miss Baggot The Little Sweep for Jubilee Opera.
