British-Canadian soprano Jessica Muirhead studied Music at McGill University, Montreal and since completing has sung across Europe and North America. Roles have included Musetta La bohème (Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich); Pamina Die Zauberflöte, Agathe Der Freischütz, Antonia Les contes d’Hoffman (Volksoper, Vienna); Marguerite Faust, Mimì La bohème (Semperoper Dresden); Mrs Alice Ford Falstaff (Glyndebourne on Tour); La Contessa di Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro (Teatro Nacional de São Carlo, Lisbon) Countess Almaviva, Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Micaëla (Canadian Opera Company, Toronto); Vreli A Village Romeo and Juliet (Wexford Festival Opera); Violetta La traviata (Dorset Festival Opera). As a concert soloist she has appeared with the Hamburger Symphoniker; Washington Chorus and Orchestra (Kennedy Center); Bayerischer Rundfunkorchester; l’Orchestre Chambre de Genève. Her repertoire includes Haydn’s Creation, Fauré’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem, Berg’s Seven Early Songs. Recent engagements include her New York recital debut; appearing again at the Kennedy Center, Washington DC, performing works including his War Requiem as part of the Britten 100 series; her debut with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. Future plans include her debut at Edmonton Opera, as Pamina.
