Julian Boyce

Julian Boyce studied Drama at the University of Kent, where he won the Canterbury Cathedral Bursary Award for singing. He is a graduate of The Opera School (Wales), British Youth Opera and received a major award from James Pantyfedwen Foundation to fund postgraduate studies at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he was awarded the Della Windsor Memorial Prize. Julian joined the WNO Chorus in 2005, where roles include Bogdanowitsch The Merry Widow, Customs Official La bohème, Helmsman Tristan and Isolde, Uncle Yakuside Madam Butterfly, Montano Otello, Servant Lulu, Dog The Cunning Little Vixen. He has also worked extensively with Opera Box, Swansea City Opera, Curtain Call Productions and London City Opera. He has performed in master classes given by Neal Davies, Malcolm Martineau, Benjamin Luxon and has worked with Stuart Burrows on Haydn’s Creation. Julian has performed wide ranging repertoire as a concert soloist throughout Britain and founded Volante Productions, which stages concerts in South and Mid Wales.
