Justina Gringyte studied at Lithuania’s Academy of Music and Theatre, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio. She is a former Samling Scholar and was a member of the Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 seasons. Justina has recently been awarded the Worshipful Company of Musicians’ Silver Medal and the Llais Llanbed Award, and was a finalist in the Stuart Burrows International Voice Competition. She studies with Buddug Verona James. Engagements include Flora La traviata, Third Nymph Rusalka, Maddalena Rigoletto in the Placido Domingo Gala, Third Innocent Minotaur, Albina La donna del lago, Maddalena Il viaggio a Reims, Suzy La rondine (Royal Opera House); Meg Page Falstaff, Eboli Don Carlos, Pauline The Queen of Spades, title role Carmen, Beatrice Béatrice et Bénédict in excerpts (RWCMD); while at NOS, scenes as Romeo I Capuleti e i Montecchi (WNO), Witch Hansel und Gretel (Scottish Opera). Engagements this season include Flowermaiden Parsifal (ROH); Maddalena Rigoletto in a new production by Christopher Alden (ENO debut). Future plans include Maddalena (ROH); Mahler 8 with Salonen and the Philharmonia; title role Carmen (ENO).
