Leah-Marian Jones studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and National Opera Studio. A Company Principal for eight years at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, roles included Tisbe La Cenerentola (televised for BBC2), Varvara Katya Kabanova, Dorabella Così fan tutte, Karolka Jenu˚fa, Maddalena Rigoletto, Mercédès Carmen, Annina Der Rosenkavalier, Flosshilde Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, Young Doctor Palestrina (also at the Metropolitan Opera, New York). She has also sung leading roles for English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North, at the Châtelet in Paris, Angers, Nantes Opéra, Opéra de Rennes and in Berkeley, California. Concert highlights include a Gala Concert with Luciano Pavarotti; soloist in a Verdi Programme at the BBC Proms; and Rossweisse and Flosshilde in concert performances of Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung (Hallé Orchestra, conducted by Mark Elder) at Manchester International Festival. Recent engagements include Kabanicha Katya Kabanova (WNO); Witch Hansel and Gretel and Baba the Turk The Rake’s Progress (Scottish Opera); Flora La traviata (Angers Nantes Opera).
