Marc Weeger

Costume Designer Nabucco

Marc Weeger studied with Jürgen Rose at the State Academy of Art in Stuttgart and has been working as freelance stage and costume designer. 
He has worked with directors including Andrea Breth on Eugene Onegin (Salzburg Festival), Katya Kabanova (Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie), Wozzeck (State Opera at Berlin’s Schiller Theatre), Der Spieler (Nederlandse Opera); Christof Nel on three one act operas by Henze (Prince Regent Theatre, Munich); Jim Lucassen on Così fan tutte (Opéra Lorraine Nancy); Tanja
Richter on Was ihr wollt (Neues Theater, Halle); Rudolf Frey on Nabucco (Stuttgart State Opera); Jörg Behr on Britten’s Peter Grimes (Aachen Opera), Hindemith’s Cardillac, Euripides’ Helena, and Purcell’s and Bruno Maderna’s Meeting Dido (Augsburg Theatre), Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos (Freiburg Opera); Tatjana Gürbaca on Lucia di Lammermoor, Massenet’s Werther
and Manon, Smetana’s Die Verkaufte Braut and Un ballo in maschera (State Theatre Mainz), Der fliegende Holländer (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Tchaikovsky’s Mazepa, Die Zauberin and Eugene Onegin (Vlaamse Opera). Together with Silke Willrett, Marc was nominated several times as best stage and costume designer in ‘Die Deutsche Bühne’.
