Mary King

Mary King's career has encompassed roles including performer, teacher, coach, broadcaster and writer. Performing highlights include collaborations with Oliver Knussen, and with Simon Rattle with whom she performed The Cunning Little Vixen (ROH) and L’enfant et les sortileges. Between 2004 and 2006 she was Artistic Associate at English National Opera and was Vocal Director for performances of Leonard Bernstein’s MASS at London’s Southbank Centre. Between 2013 - 2018 she taught at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and she currently teaches at the Royal Academy of Music and ArtsEd. She is currently Vocal Talent Consultant at Glyndebourne and was recently appointed Interim Head of Vocal Studies at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. She has appeared on television as the expert analyst for Cardiff Singer of the World since 2003 and regularly presents on BBC Radio 3.
