Peter Sonn

Alfredo Germont La traviata

Peter Sonn was born in Salzburg where he completed his vocal studies at the
University of Music and Performing Arts Mozarteum with distinction. During
his studies, he made his debut with Salzburg Festival and at Baden-Baden
Festival. Engagements at Landestheater Coburg, Tiroler Landestheater
Innsbruck and Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich, included Belmonte
Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni, Ferrando Così fan
tutte, Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Lorenzo Fra Diavolo, Marquis von Chateauneuf Zar und Zimmermann, Steuermann Der fliegende Holländer, Lensky Eugene
Onegin, Nemorino L’elisir d’amore, Alfredo La traviata, Arnim Simplicius,
Camille Die lustige Witwe. Other engagements include Die Schuldigkeit
des Ersten Gebots, Die Zauberflöte, Die Frau ohne Schatten (Salzburg
Festival); Tamino (Frankfurt Opera; Hamburg State Opera; Komische Oper
Berlin); Jüngling Die Frau ohne Schatten (La Scala). Peter was an ensemble
member at Zurich Opera, 2009-2012, where roles included Henry Morosus
Die schweigsame Frau, Vladimir Igorevich Prince Igor, Italian Tenor Der
Rosenkavalier, Narraboth Salome. During 2012/2013, he made his debut with
Berlin State Opera as Steuermann (Hamburg, Berlin and Chicago) followed
by David Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Salzburg Festival). In 2014 he
will join the Berlin State Opera as Walther von der Vogelweide and La Scala as
Ferrando again.
