Sarah Crisp

Staff Director The Magic Flute

Sarah Crisp was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, and trained at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. After graduating she worked with the award-winning NoFit State Circus before joining WNO’s stage management team. She has been assistant director on Semele (British Youth Opera); The Magic Flute (Surrey Opera); The Vackees (One Small Step). Since 2005 she has been a staff director for Welsh National Opera on a wide range of productions including The Queen of Spades, Hansel and Gretel, The Cunning Little Vixen, The Barber of Seville, Il trovatore, and ToscaShe also directed the 2014 revival of La traviata. In 2013 she assisted Giles Havergal for Opera North’s new production of Albert Herring and took this production to the Birgitta Festival in Tallinn, Estonia.
