Costume Designer Nabucco

Silke Willrett studied staging and costume design with Jürgen Rose at the State Academy of Art, Stuttgart where she also read art history. Since 2003 she has worked as freelance stage and costume designer, often with Marc Weeger. Silke has also worked with Andrea Breth on Eugene Onegin (Salzburg Festival), Katja Kabanova (La Monnaie), Wozzeck (Berlin State Opera); Christof Nel on Hartmann’s Simplicius Simplicissimus (State Opera Stuttgart; Frankfurt Opera), Die Bakchen (State Theatre, Frankfurt), Henze’s Das Wundertheater, Der Landarzt, Das Ende der Welt (Prince Regent Theatre, Munich), Moses 
und Aron (Deutsche Oper am Rhein); Jörg Behr on Britten’s Peter Grimes (Aachen Opera), Hindemith’s Cardillac, Euripides’ Helena, Purcell’s and Bruno Maderna’s Meeting Dido (Augsburg Stadttheater); Monique Wagemakers on Madam Butterfly, Rudolf Frey on Nabucco, Sergio Morabito on Wunderzeichen by Marc Andre (State Opera Stuttgart); Jim Lucassen on Così fan tutte (Opéra de Nancy); Tatjana Gürbaca on Werther, Manon, Un ballo in maschera, Rinaldo (State Theatre Mainz), Der fliegende Holländer (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Mazepa, Die Zauberin, Eugene Onegin (Vlaamse Opera), Carmen (Leipzig Opera), Salome (Deutsche Oper am Rhein) Rigoletto, Aida (Zurich Opera). Together with Marc Weeger, Silke was nominated several times as the best stage and costume designer in ‘Die Deutsche Bühne’.
