Paula Bradbury

Shepherd Boy Tosca 

Paula Bradbury was born Saddleworth. She studied Dance and Drama at Grange Arts Centre and Music at Welsh College of Music and Drama and Royal Northern College of Music. Awards include the Kodály Prize, Mabel Linwood Christopher Prize and Northern Musician’s Recital Competition. Paula joined the WNO Chorus in 1992 where roles include Page Rigoletto (recorded for Teldec), Noémie Cendrillon, Countess Ceprano Rigoletto (recorded for Opus Television), First Cretan Woman Idomeneo, Squire Parsifal, Gretel Hansel and Gretel, Fourth Minister / Girl The Doctor of Myddfai (recorded for Collins Classics) and Marzelline Leonore in Oporto, Portugal. Paula has also performed Ellen Lakmé, La bohème (Opera Box; London City Opera in Malta); Suor Genoveva (Opera Femina).

Paula has been a project leader for WNO’s Youth and Community department creating the Katerina Chorus and touring primary and secondary schools. Paula has also studied on the Certificate course in Touch Therapy and Movement Education. Concert work includes Creation for Voices for Hospices (Salford Cathedral; Chester Cathedral and with Northern Symphony Orchestra); recitals for Saddleworth Festival, Royal Northern College of Music, Cardiff City of Culture and Opera Box.
