Leonardo Capalbo

Alfredo Germont La traviata 

Leonardo Capalbo trained at Julliard School of Music, Music Academy of
the West in Santa Barbara and L’Academie Musicale de Villecroze in France.
Leonardo has performed at the Chicago Lyric Opera, Berlin State Opera,
Teatro all’Opera di Roma, Semper Oper Dresden, Köln Opera, Opéra du
Rhin, Strasbourg, Oper Leipzig, Opéra de Bordeaux, Stuttgart Opera, Opéra
de Nice, L’Opéra de Montreal, Miami Opera, New York City Opera, Opera
North and at Glyndebourne and Spoleto Festivals. Recent engagements
have included Nemorino L’elisir d’amore (Glyndebourne); Macduff Macbeth
(Chicago Lyric Opera); La traviata (L’Opéra de Genève; Welsh National
Opera; Dresden); a new production of Rigoletto (Leipzig). In May 2013 he
sang Nerone in Warlikowski’s production of Poppea e Nerone (Montpellier).
He made his debut at the Teatro Real, Madrid, in July 2013 in the title role of
Postino. The 2013/2014 season also includes Rigoletto (Leipzig); Nabucco
(Geneva); as well his first Tom Rakewell The Rake’s Progress (Teatro Regio,
Turin). Other roles in his repertoire include Rodolfo La bohème, Des Grieux
Manon, Roméo Roméo et Juliette.
