George Newton-Fitzgerald studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with a first class degree. After graduating he joined the cast of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, playing the roles of Reuben / Butler, and on occasions, Jacob. Operatic engagements include Dick Deadeye / Carpenter HMS Pinafore (D’Oyly Carte Opera Company); Herman Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Count Ceprano Rigoletto (Mid Wales Opera); Baron Zeta The Merry Widow (Columbia Artistes); Marullo Rigoletto (European Chamber Opera); Aeneas Dido and Aeneas (Ukraine State Opera). He has also worked with Chris de Burgh
as his principal backing singer, both in the studio and on tour. George joined
the WNO Chorus in 2002 where roles have included Old Gypsy Il trovatore, Flora’s Servant / Messenger La traviata, Wig-Maker Ariadne auf Naxos, Ivan Die Fledermaus, Stagehand Lulu, Paggio Roberto Devereux
 and Sciarrone Tosca.
