Monika Sawa

Singer Manon Lescaut

Monika Sawa was born in Poland where she studied singing and flute. She
has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance at the London
College of Music and Media and gained the Certificate in the Art of Teaching
Singing, the Student of the Year Award and has also performed in many
concerts, recitals and opera workshops at the college. She also has performed
in concerts for Concordia Foundation in London and abroad. In Poland she
worked as part of ensemble with the National Folk Singing and Dancing
Company ‘Mazowsze’ as both singer and dancer. In 2006 she began to work
in opera as a chorister including Carmen, Der Rosenkavalier, Madam Butterfly,
Lucia di Lammermoor (Scottish Opera); Khovanshchina, Aida, Fidelio, Turandot
(Welsh National Opera); Cavalleria rusticana, I pagliacci, Boris Godunov, Aida,
Peter Grimes, Tosca, The Pearl Fishers (English National Opera). She has also
performed Gorecki Symphony No.3 with Filharmonia Britanica, title role Tosca
and Berta The Barber of Seville with Pavilion Opera. She joined the WNO
Chorus in January 2013 where she has covered the role of Anna Kennedy
Maria Stuarda.
