Brazilian tenor, Luciano Botelho’s recent engagements include Count Almaviva Il barbiere di Siviglia (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden); Duke of Mantua Rigoletto (Opera de Rennes); an appearance with the Orchestra and Chorus of Sao Paolo for Rossini’s Stabat Mater; house and role debut as Narciso Il Turco in Italia at Opera Australia; and his return to Oper Stuttgart for revival performances as Orpheus in Orfeé et Euridice, a role he previously inaugurated in their new production of 2011. Past engagements include his debut as Giacomo La donna del lago with Joyce di Donato (Grand Théâtre de Genève); Giacomo (Theater an der Wien); Intendante Linda di Chamounix (ROH); Count Almaviva (Tokyo’s New National Theatre); Don Ramiro La Cenerentola (Malmo Opera; Opéra de Massy; Glyndebourne Touring Opera); and made his debut at Oper Köln as Percy Anna Bolena. Further appearances include Fenton Falstaff (Angers Nantes Opéra; Opera de Rennes; and in Brazil); Nemorino L’elisir d’amore (Opéra de Dijon); Flavio Norma (Théâtre du Châtelet; and at Salzburg Festival with Edita Gruberova in the title role).
