Siân was born in Cardiff and studied at Bristol University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she was awarded the Dolan Evans Memorial Prize.
At college Siân performed the roles of Emmie, Albert Herring and the Woodpecker and Pepik, The Cunning Little Vixen. She also covered the role of Elizabeth Barry, Second Bottle and performed Exultate Jubilate with the RWCMD String Orchestra.
Siân has sung with WNO Extra Chorus, BBC National Chorus of Wales and the award-winning Welsh choir, Serendipity. For Opera Project she has performed in Eugene Onegin and The Cunning Little Vixen (Hen) and Die Fledermaus. She has also sung with Carl Rosa Opera Company, touring the USA and Canada and covering the role of Phyllis, Iolanthe.
Siân is an artist on the Live Music Now! scheme with Two’s Company. She sang the role of ‘Carry-Ann’ in Live Music Now Ireland’s opera, The Impostor, and recently took part in a two-day masterclass and concert with Sally Burgess.
Sian is also a free-lance vocal animateur, doing numerous projects for WNO MAX. She has recently been accepted on to the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme to study English Song with Sir Thomas Allen and looks forward to continuing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in September 2009.
