WNO Orchestra at St David's Hall

16 January 7.30pm

St David's Hall, Cardiff

Tickets £5 - £42

Join us for an evening of spellbinding musical moments. You’ll be transported away from the dark drear of a January evening to worlds of fantasy and make-believe.

In just 12 minutes of dramatic music Dvořák tells the tale of The Noon Day Witch. A mother’s efforts to protect her son from the Witch end in tragedy. Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 4 sounds like it reaches down to us from another realm. This ethereal concerto ends with one of the most joyous movements Beethoven ever wrote. Debussy’s Prélude is instantly recognisable. Warm and languid, it promises to take the listener to somewhere strange and out of time. Bartók’s relentless ballet score is dark and rich.
