Cora Burggraaf: Cherubino

Previous Welsh National Opera Roles: Hansel Hansel and Gretel (Summer 2008)

Born in The Netherlands, Cora Burggraaf studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio.

Among the orchestras she has performed are the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic. Cora appears regularly in recital throughout Europe including the Concertgebouw and London’s Wigmore Hall. Next season Cora makes her American recital debut at the Frick Collection.

Operatic appearances include Handel’s Agrippina for the London Handel Society, Dido and Aeneas (Belinda) in Aix-en-Provence and Tamerlano in Bordeaux with Emmanuelle Haïm. She made her debut at The Royal Opera House in Tippett’s A Midsummer Marriage, her debut with San Francisco Opera in Le nozze di Figaro and her debut at the Netherlands Opera in Don Giovanni.

Cora has been chosen as an ECHO Rising Star for the 2009 /2010 season, with a total of 13 recitals throughout Europe.
