Camilla Roberts was born in Wrexham, North Wales, trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Laura Sarti and the National Opera Studio sponsored by Welsh National Opera. In 2005 Camilla represented Wales in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. Other awards include the inaugural Kenneth Loveland Gift, the Harold Rosenthal Award and the WNO Chris Ball Bursary.
From 2003 to 2004 Camilla was an Associate Artist at Welsh National Opera. Roles for WNO include Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi Così fan tutte, Micaela Carmen, Adina The Elixir of Love, Diane Iphigènie en Tauride, Flower maiden Parsifal, title role / Laura Iolanta also performed at the BBC Proms 2005 and First Lady The Magic Flute. Other roles include Anna Nabucco (Opera North); Tatyana Eugene Onegin (Opera Holland Park); Marenka The Bartered Bride, Mimì La bohème (Mid Wales Opera); Anna Le Villi (Chelsea Opera Group); Foreign Princess Rusalka (English Touring Opera).
Recordings include Anna Nabucco (Chandos); a CD of Viennese Arias with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Isabella in Ricci’s Corrado D’Altamura (Opera Rara). Camilla has also appeared on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night and has numerous concert engagements to her name.
