Welsh National Youth Opera is on the lookout for talented young singers aged between 16 and 25 to join our innovative and critically acclaimed company.
In 2011 we will be performing the world première of The Sleeper. It is composed by Stephen Deazley with words by Michael Symmons Roberts. This new opera will be performed by a 50 strong company in a secret location in Cardiff Bay - don’t miss out on the chance to be involved in the very first performances of this exciting new opera!
WNYO are inviting singers from across Wales to apply to join the company via Wales-wide auditions, with a number of residential places available.
As part of the company you’ll work with experienced theatre professionals - music directors, directors, designers, vocal specialists and musicians - to improve your rehearsal and performance skills. You’ll get to know the internationally renowned Welsh National Opera company and rehearse in the surroundings of Wales Millennium Centre.
Auditions will take place between 22 and 26 November 2010. Auditions will be held in the following areas on the dates indicated below:
Monday 22 November - Wrexham
Monday 22 November - Caernarfon
Tuesday 23 November - Aberystwyth
Tuesday 23 November - Carmarthen
Wednesday 24, Thursday 25 & Friday 26 November - Cardiff
