Atmospheres

‘Atmospheres' is a full day workshop for 30 GCSE Music and Music Technology pupils encouraging their composition and performance skills and offering them the opportunity to learn from, and be inspired by a composer, music technology expert and professional musicians from the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera.

During the day the pupils will take part in time structured improvisation and composition, source sounds from the school environment and each others performances, manipulate these in software and create a 20-minute film score using their own instruments and/or music technology such as sound collection and sampling. The finished score will be performed and recorded at the end of the day and pupils will get to keep their own individual copies of the film.
