WNO offers a range of work experience opportunities to young people over the age of 16 in all departments.

Arts Administration Work Experience

The Max department has opportunities for people aged over 16 years old to undertake work experience in the office. The role involves project assistance for Max Producers and Project Management including tasks such as planning and organising logistics, data input/analysis, project research and administrative and office management duties.

Orchestral Placements

Young players from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama are offered the opportunity to audition for placements within the orchestra.

Welsh National Youth Opera

WNO produces a youth opera production each summer and has built an extensive work placement programme around this production. There are opportunities in stage management, costume, make-up, assistant directing, repetiteuring, assistant musical directing and singing and playing.
