Work Placements


WNO offers a range of work experience opportunities to young people over the age of 16 in all departments.

Arts Administration Work Experience


The Max department has opportunities for people aged over 16 years old to undertake work experience placements from between 1-3 months full time. The role includes project assistance, project research and administrative and office management duties.

Technical Placements

Technical Placements provides opportunities for people aged 16 and over in departments including Stage Management, Costume, Wigs, Props, Millinery and Electrics. Some previous experience may be necessary.

Orchestral Placements

Welsh National Opera runs a placement scheme in collaboration with The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama offering young players opportunities to gain experience of orchestral playing and meet the WNO Orchestra.

Welsh National Youth Opera

Welsh National Opera will produce a youth opera production in 2011. There will be work experience opportunities in stage management, costume, make-up, assistant directing, repetiteuring, assistant music directing, singing and playing.
