Dolffin takes a sea-fairing view of opera, exploring the relationship between humans and dolphins.
Dolffin is the story of a troubled man, who changes his ways following an encounter with a mother dolphin.
With music evocative of the sea and design by Max Jones, the piece celebrates the dolphin as one of the great treasures of Cardigan Bay.
This is the second in WNO's trilogy of new chamber operas: Land, Sea, Sky, following the hugely successful Redflight Barcud. The bilingual libretto is written by former National Poet for Wales, Gwyneth Lewis.
The Spring tour of Wales this year took place in Aberystwyth, Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion, Cilycwm and Newtown. The Summer tour included Hay Festival, Cardiff, Liverpool, Bristol and Birmingham.
