WNO MAX - MacMillan Live
As well as The Magician's Cat concert, last year's Tour of Wales also featured a concert for young people at secondary schools and colleges of further education - MacMillan Live.
It was a concert of music by one of our most celebrated contemporary composers, James MacMillan and featured two of his works - Britannia and The Confessions of Isobel Gowdie. James MacMillan conducted the concerts and it was an amazing opportunity for the young people to learn about and hear the music of such an exciting living composer and to see him conduct the Orchestra of WNO and talk about his work.
The concerts were performed in Bro Gwaun School, Fishguard; Deeside Leisure Centre; Porthmadog Leisure Centre; Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Afan Lido Leisure Centre, Port Talbot.
James MacMillan is currently writing a new opera for Welsh National Opera - The Sacrifice.
