YOUNG PLAYER'S PROJECT
The Young Player's project gives young musicians the opportunity to take a musical voyage from their own chamber ensembles to being a part of the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera.
The project is in three sections:
Part 1: Chamber music coaching
WOODWIND, BRASS and PERCUSSION
Players will have ensemble coaching from orchestral players and play in the rehearsal rooms of WNO.
There will also be the opportunity to perform in the foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre at the culmination of the event on the second day at 6pm.

STRING PLAYERS
Players can come and work in ensembles coached by the sections of the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera within the Orchestra's purpose built rehearsal studios. The two-day course concludes with a public performance in the foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre on the second day at 6pm.

Part 2: Play within your section
Following Part 1, there will be an opportunity for some of the participants to be invited to be part of a sectional rehearsal with the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, sitting and playing alongside the professional musicians as they work on the music for a concert at St David's Hall in the summer.
Part 3: Join the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera
Following on from Part 2, some participants will be invited to take part in two days of rehearsals with the full Orchestra of WNO as they prepare for the concert at St David's Hall on July 10th 2007. The concert is open to the public and will include a new, exciting piece by Brian Irvine commissioned for full orchestra and children's choir.
There may also be opportunities for the young players to take part in the Welsh National Youth Opera production next summer.
