Men of the Chorus of Welsh National Opera sing of love, loss, work, winning, war and women.
Twenty Men Singing is an exploration of how, when and why men have sung together, drawing on repertoire that spans almost a thousand years of music - sacred to profane, classical and folk - from Europe and North America. The programme is structured around the cycle of a man's life. A baby is born, and the cycle begins, taking us through childhood, youthful play, the awakening of sexuality, romance, sport, drinking and full-blooded lust. The second half of the programme is concerned with the adulthood - with work, political struggle, war, love and ultimately loss.
