WNO MAX - Aida Community Choir

WNO is looking for 80 enthusiastic singers to rehearse and perform alongside its world-renowned chorus and orchestra for its performances of Verdi's epic, Aida.

Perform alongside the WNO Chorus and leading Welsh tenor, Dennis O'Neill on the impressive stages of Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff and Birmingham Hippodrome, with the world-class WNO Orchestra under the baton of Carlo Rizzi.

The WNO creative team will take you from the page to the stage in a whirlwind of music, direction and costume - transforming you into an Egyptian crowd. You will sing alongside the WNO Chorus in Act 2 of Aida, to welcome the triumphant Egyptian army back from their victory over Ethiopia.

Auditions will be held in late October. WNO's Aida is directed by John Caird and the WNO Aida Community Choir will be led by Chorus Master, Tim-Rhys Evans and vocal animateur, Miriam Bowen. Rehearsals will take place from February onwards and you will be expected to commit to all seven shows in the 2008 Summer season.

You need to:

- Be 16 years or over

- Be able to read music and have a love of acting

- Attend an audition in October 2007 where you will be asked to sing a song of your choice

- Be committed and attend rehearsals on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays/Sundays from February to May 2008

- Be available for the performances: 27, 31 May 3,7 &14 June 2008 (Wales Millennium Centre), 17 & 21 June 2008 (Birmingham Hippodrome)
