WNO is looking for 60 enthusiastic singers to form a ladies choir to perform alongside the Chorus and Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, Risca Male Voice Choir and the Parc and Dare Brass Band in an exciting new commission and the world premiere performances of Carbon 12 - A Choral Symphony.

Carbon 12 is an intensely dramatic celebration in music and song of South Wales' unique history, its landscape and its people. Few places in the world have seen such radical transformation and turmoil. Join us to become part of this story.

This is a rare opportunity to perform on the impressive main stages of Wales Millennium Centre and Birmingham Hippodrome under the baton of Carlo Rizzi. There will also be two further performances in the Valleys.

Come to a taster sesion on Sunday 21 October, 11 & 18 November, from 3pm to 4pm at Merthyr College.

You need to                                                                                                        

- Be over 16 years of age

- Have a love for music and performing

- Be committed to attend forthnightly rehearsals between March and May 2008 in Merthyr College

- Be available for the performances on 6 & 12 June (Cardiff), 19 June (Birmingham) and two dates in late June (Valleys tbc)

Although sheet music will be supplied, it is not necessary for you to be able to read music, as you will learn by ear.
