Paul Hodges
Trained at Royal Northern College of Music with Nicholas Powell and Frederick Cox. After spending three years with Glyndebourne Festival Opera, during which time he was granted the Lever Hulme Award, he attended the National Opera Studio. Paul’s operatic repertoire, which he has performed for the regional companies, includes Zaccaria Nabucco, Timur Turandot, Colline La bohème, Padre Guardiano The Force of Destiny and Gremin Eugene Onegin. In oratorio, Paul has performed Messiah in Salzberg; Mozart’s Requiem in Bouvais, France; Verdi Requiem at many venues. While on contract at ENO as a chorister, Paul understudied roles including Commendatore Don Giovanni, Zaccaria, Fafner Das Rhinegold and Sarastro. Whist at ENO he also performed the roles of Sparafucile Rigoletto and the Hermit Der Freischütz. He understudied the Commendatore Don Giovanni for WNO and performed the role in France for Opéra de Baugé. Future engagements include Sarastro The Magic Flute for Opéra de Baugé. When he is not singing, Paul manages his busy family farm in Buckinghamshire where he also breeds Shire horses.
