Speaking recently conductor Andrew Litton gave his thoughts on the concert and explained why he was looking forward to it.

"Our concert is the Best of British! It is a wonderful juxtaposition of different styles and emotions by two of the greatest British composers--Elgar at his most dreamy and rhapsodic and Walton at his brashest and most visceral."
