Welsh National Opera singers took part in an unusual performance on Saturday 13 June, where amongst the regular crowds the enthusiastic audience included pigs, cows, chickens and goats housed at the Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran.
Part of WNO's 'Street Songs' programme of work, the Equal Voices performance was the culmination of ten weeks work by young travellers and gypsies based at West Monmouth School, writing songs based on their experiences of life in the Valleys.
Working with artist Louise Carey the group had also created sculptures to accompany their words, which form an arts trail across the farm and can be seen hanging from chicken pens and cow sheds. One piece of sculpture - a straw and wire horse - has already become a new hideaway for two of the farm's tortoises!

The young people's artwork and words will be available to view at Greenmeadow Farm, Cwmbran throughout the summer.
