The orchestra of Welsh National Opera will be performing at St. David's Hall next Friday 22 January. New leader of the Orchestra David Adams will join the orchestra for rehearsals next week, here's what he had to say about the concert:

"Walton's 1st Symphony is such a wonderful, exciting piece, absolutely exhilarating for the audience and the musicians. It will sound fantastic in the wonderful acoustic of St David's Hall. The Elgar Cello Concerto is simply one of my favourite pieces and it will be a special pleasure to play it with my good friend Paul Watkins. Also don't miss the Solo Soul pre-concert concert featuring another of my favourite pieces, Bach Suite in C Major, and another of my favourite people, my wife!"

The Solo Soul concert will take place on Level three at St David's Hall at 6.30pm and is free to ticket holders.
