While studying Drama at University of Kent, Julian won Canterbury Cathedral Bursary Award for singing. He is a graduate of The Opera School (Wales), British Youth Opera and received a major award from James Pantyfedwen Foundation to fund postgraduate studies at Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he was awarded the Della Windsor Memorial Prize.
Roles include Sciaronne / Sacristan Tosca, Papageno The Magic Flute, Sorceress Dido and Aeneas, Betto Gianni Schicci, Guglielmo Così fan tutte, Fiorello The Barber of Seville, Drunken Poet / Coridon The Fairy Queen, Grenvil / D’Obigny La traviata, Nilakantha Lakme, Sharpless Madam Butterfly, Figaro / Bartolo Le nozze di Figaro.
Julian has worked extensively with Opera Box, Swansea City Opera, Curtain Call Productions, London City Opera. He has performed in master classes given by Neal Davies, Malcolm Martineau, Benjamin Luxon and has worked with Stuart Burrows on Haydn’s Creation.
Julian has performed wide ranging repertoire as a concert soloist throughout Britain and founded Volante Productions, which stages concerts in South and Mid Wales.
