An enchanting new opera for young children telling the story of a Prince’s quest to marry a real Princess.
Step into the museum, leave the real world behind you and let the curators tell you an enchanting tale of love. The Prince of our story is looking for a real Princess to marry, a Princess who is kind, sensitive, funny and beautiful. His quest for true love takes him on a journey across the world but not one of the princesses who he meets is the right one. Fearing he may never meet a real Princess, he returns home and is terribly sad, as he wants to find a real Princess so badly. He soon discovers that the real Princess of his dreams may be closer to home than he thought and with the help of a little green pea, he eventually finds her.
A Real Princess is a magical and engaging opera for young children and is based on the fairytale The Princess and the Pea by Hans Christian Andersen.
Bring your family and friends and join singers and musicians from the Chorus and Orchestra of Welsh National Opera as they bring this delightful tale to life.
