Lisette Oropesa received her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Louisiana State University and is a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera where roles include the role of Lisette, La Rondine, Woglinde, Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, as well as the Wood Bird, Siegfried in the Ring Cycle. Additionally, she performed the Liebeslieder Waltzer in Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall.
She has won numerous awards and competitions including the 2009 Richard Tucker Music Foundation Career Grant. In the 2009-2010 season, Lisette Oropesa returns to the Metropolitan Opera for performances of Susanna, Le Nozze di Figaro.
In the spring sings Nanetta Falstaff (Bilbao); and Fiorilla, Turco in Italia (Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf). Other recent notable engagements include her first performances of Lucia di Lammermoor (Opera New Jersey).
