The Friends of WNO is a separate charity (No 503538) formed in 1974 to support the work of the Company and to encourage appreciation of opera amongst the general public. There are now ten active Local Associations based on the Company's touring areas and well over 4,500 Friends throughout England and Wales. The Local Associations cover the following areas:
- Birmingham and West Midlands
- Bristol and West of England
- Cardiff and South East Wales
- Leicester and East Midlands
- Liverpool and North West England
- London and South East England
- North Wales
- Oxford
- Southampton
- Swansea and West Wales
Membership of the Friends gives you the opportunity to feel part of Welsh National Opera and to contribute to the Company's success. Membership also offers the following advantages:
Annual membership of the Friends costs just £35 (individual) and £45 (joint). Senior citizens, registered unemployed and under 21s pay £30 (individual) and £40 (joint). These rates are valid until 31st December 2008.
