Support Us - Trusts & Foundations
Helping WNO to reach and enrich the communities we serve

The funding we receive from trusts and foundations makes a critical contribution to WNO's ability to maintain its role as the UK's busiest and widest reaching UK opera company, including the creation of world class opera and developing projects within WNO MAX.

With the help of trusts funding, in recent years WNO has been able to:

  • Retain and protect the quality of its mainscale repertoire and the extent of its touring

  • Create four new productions every year

  • Commission new work

  • Increase activity in primary, secondary and special needs schools to provide a greater depth of experience of opera for children and teachers

  • Produce and perform community operas

  • Undertake school and community concerts in areas less well served culturally than others

Two examples of projects that have recently been supported by Trusts are:

Land, Sea, Sky a trilogy of new chamber operas based on animal conservation themes for use with primary school children who through their location in rural parts of Wales, have few opportunities to engage with live music.

Magician's Cat WNO's orchestral concert for primary schools which tours to leisure centres in small towns across Wales and the South of England bringing the thrill of a live opera performance to new audiences or to those who are unable to make the journey to a major city centre to experience the art form live.

If you would like to receive more information about how Trusts can support WNO's activities, please contact Development Manager, Trust & Corporate Fundraising Sheona Gardner or call 029 2063 5044.
