Supporting new productions at WNO for more than a decade

The WNO Partnership is a very special group of individual supporters whose regular annual financial support plays an increasingly vital part in the Company's ability to sustain its artistic programme.  Many of the productions supported by the Partnership have brought WNO great critical acclaim and reinforced our position as a world-class opera company.  We are all extremely proud that Wozzeck, the Partnership supported production in 2005, gained first prize in the RPS Opera & Music Theatre Category awards this year. The citation read, "The award recognises the musical and dramatic excellence displayed by an entire company - singers, orchestra and conductor, production and technical team - in realising and touring one of the greatest 20th century operas."

The response, by critics and audiences alike, to this year's supported production, Mazepa, has been remarkable. The next new production to be supported by this collective fund will be The Sacrifice, a new commission to be performed in autumn 2007. Written and conducted by James MacMillan, this is another very ambitious project that we are all greatly looking forward to.

Your money will help WNO to maintain its output of award-winning new productions and will play an increasingly vital part in the artistic programme in Wales and key English regions. The generosity of the Partnership really does help WNO to stage operas that pose special challenges and which the Company might otherwise feel unable to undertake.  Donors are encouraged to be philanthropic and give as generously as they can, with contributions starting at a minimum level of £34 a month or £400 annually.

* Have a closer relationship with the Company and gain further insight and understanding of the world of opera.

* Receive advance information about the Company's activities and have the opportunity to attend special events.

Donations to the Partnership are also acknowledged in the main WNO programmes.
