Craig Yates: Chord to Board
6.30am Alarm goes off. I'm up before everyone else as I have to go to TV centre to do a live radio interview on Radio Wales. After a quick breakfast, leave hotel at 7.30 in private car – I could get used to this! Arrive at TV Centre and find the correct studio. Linked live to Cardiff and have a 10 min chat on air about the final. I am joined in the studio by a girl form Ysgol Glanathwy, another of the finalists and we have a bit of banter on air about the day. My voice still isn't feeling great and just to help I now have a stinking cold, so ears, nose and sinus are all blocked up! Great!
8.30am I meet the rest of the choir in the dressing room, put on lovely purple t shirts and performance shoes, and head to first rehearsal of the day – a group choregreaphy session. Rest of day filled with many rehearsals, trying costumes on, chat from BBC lawers about the future, Dress rehearsal at 4, then live at 6 o'clock.
7pm we are into the final 2! We have a rehearsal of the final sing off show. Two welsh choirs in the final. London's Revelation have gone out.
8.50pm – The live final. We sing one more song and then find out the result. WE WON!! Lots of hugging and crying from all around us. We sing one more song again, this time with glitter pouring down from the air and fireworks going off around us! Amazing experience. Exhausting, but well worth it in the end!
11.30pm The wrap party with a free bar and barbque is still going on, but we have to leave and head straight back to Cardiff. We are recording two show of Songs of Praise in St David Hall tomorrow, plus we've been asked to go live onto Aled Jones's radio two show at 8 in the morning. Live continues...
