Cardiff Theatrical Services (CTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Welsh National Opera, offers a complete manufacturing service, including carpentry, joinery, engineering, metal fabrication, painting, sculpting and specialist cloth sewing. Based in a 16,500 sq. ft. workshop, a first class facility situated in the centre of Cardiff, it has easy access to the M4, Central Railway Station and Wales International Airport.
As well as undertaking the building of all WNO's new productions and refurbishment of existing sets CTS has developed an international reputation working with clients such as The Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne Opera, Opera North, Royal National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Monte Carlo Opera and De Vlaamse Opera and the Kirov Opera.
The full-time staff of 22 ensures the consistency required to produce high quality scenery, whilst freelance and casual staff supplement the workforce to meet the required degree of flexibility when working to tight deadlines and delivery dates.
