Howard Kirk

Born in Leicestershire, Howard trained at Royal College of Music where he was awarded the John Ireland Prize. In 1998 he was awarded a Wingate Scholarship to study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Opera Course. He has worked for Glyndebourne Festival and Touring Opera; English National Opera; English Touring Opera; Bampton Classical Opera and Wexford Festival Opera. Engagements include
Vaughan Williams’ Hugh the Drover; Monostatos The Magic Flute; Sellem The Rake’s Progress; Antinous Penelope; Macheath Beggar’s Opera; Janek The Makropoulos Case; Lindoro Nina. Howard joined the Chorus of Welsh National Opera in January 2004 where roles include Apprentice 2 Wozzeck, Borsa Rigoletto, Vicomte Cascada The Merry Widow, Steersman The Flying Dutchman, Benoit La bohème, Lillas Pastia / Guide Carmen, Servant Khovanshchina, Monostatos The Magic Flute, Don Curzio The Marriage of Figaro, Gaston La traviata.
