Philip Lloyd-Evans studied at University of East Anglia and Royal Academy of Music.
He has performed over 30 roles for WNO including Prince Yeletsky The Queen of Spades, Ping Turandot, Dancaire Carmen, Sid La Fanciulla del West, Cappadocian Salome, Sailor / Helmsman Tristan and Isolde, Yakuside Madam Butterfly, Wigmaker Ariadne auf Naxos, Father / Sandman Hansel and Gretel, Novice's Friend Billy Budd, Wagner Faust, Second Yeoman The Yeomen of the Guard, Silvano Un ballo in maschera, Thierry / 2nd Commissionaire The Carmelites, Counsel Trial by Jury, Fiorello The Barber of Seville, Dikoy / Kudriash Katerina (Ruth Byrchmore), First Minister The Doctor of Myddfai (Sir Peter Maxwell Davies), Scythian Man Iphigénie en Tauride, Herald Otello, Marquis of Obigny La traviata.
Recordings include roles in The Yeomen of the Guard and HMS Pinafore (Telarc), Osud Janáček (EMI), Ping Turandot for the S4C series of animated operas, and Wagner Faust for Channel Four.
Philip is also a member of the teaching staff at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
