Hailing from Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Sian studied at Bangor University and then The Royal Academy of Music.
She made her operatic debut singing Baba the Turk The Rake's Progress, Sorceress Dido and Aeneas (The Opera Factory); subsequently Old Lady Candide, Zita Gianni Schicci (Batignano Opera Festival), before joining Royal Opera House Chorus where she sang Page Salome, Bridesmaid Le nozze di Figaro, Orphan Der Rosenkavalier, soloist in world première of Twyla Tharp's ballet Mr Wordly Wise.
Roles for WNO include Annina La traviata, Inez Il trovatore, Giovanna Rigoletto, Mayor's Wife Jenůfa, Kate Pinkerton Madam Butterfly, Suzuki for WNO Creative and recording of Zena Katya Kabanova for Chandos.
Amongst her many awards are the 2001 Blue Ribband and the Susan Chilcott 2006/07 Scholarship and subsequently Sian was honoured to become a Royal Philharmonic Young Artist.
Recent concert work includes Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde (Llandaff Cathedral) and Ruckert Lieder (The Gate, Cardiff) with City of Cardiff Symphony Orchestra. Recent recitals include Liebeslieder Waltze at Wales Millennium Centre and an Evening of Opera Tour of Wales with opera group 3&2.
In summer 2009, Sian was soloist on the Swan Baltic Cruise-ship and at National Eisteddfod Choir Concert, Machynlleth Music Festival and Barmouth Music Festival.
