Discounts :

School, Education and Youth Groups: Groups of 10 or more: £12.00 each with every 11th seat free for teachers

Registered Disabled: £5.00 off each ticket for disabled patrons.

Wheelchair users and one companion: Two tickets for the price of one (including wheelchair users) who require the service/support of a companion.

Over 60s, under 16s, full-time students, registered unemployed and Circle Club: £6.00 off top three prices

Student Standby: 48 hours prior to the performance, best available seats at £10.00, not available on Saturdays


Groups of 10 - 19: £6.00 off top three ticket prices
Groups of 20 - 34: £8 off top three prices
Groups of 35 or more: £10 off top three prices plus one free ticket

Only one discount per ticket may apply. Valid ID must be presented where applicable. All discounts are subject to availability and restrictions may apply for certain shows. Please ask the Box Office for full details.

Surtitles: Follow all the action!

When an opera is sung in a foreign language, an English translation of the story is displayed on a screen above the stage. However, surtitles are not visible from some areas of the auditorium. To take advantage of the surtitles, please advise the Ticket Shop when booking your seat.

Welsh National Opera's pre-performance talks are free but have to be ticketed due to popular demand. Please book your place through Birmingham Hippodrome.

Explore Opera gives a buoyant overview of WNO's productions and the characters in each opera. These events are free for people who may be new to opera as well as regular opera - goers so please come and experience firsthand the creation of an opera from the score to the stage. These do not need to be booked in advance.

Buy you programmes in advance

If you want to find out more about the opera you are attending in advnace, you can buy your programmes by mail order. WNO programmes are available by post after the first Cardiff performance of each opera at a cost of £4 plus 50p postage and packing (cheque/credit card only).
