Confident Communications
The Communications, Marketing & Student Recruitment team at UWIC, wanted to enhance their team away day and develop individuals’ self-confidence. Drawing on WNO’s artistic expertise, we designed and delivered an interactive workshop that gave the team the opportunity to learn together.
Through the experiential process, the participants discovered the mindset and physical attributes that we all need to perform with confidence. They explored body language and voice skills such as posture, eye contact, articulation, and vocal modulation, to help them become more confident and effective in meetings, in presentations, and over the telephone.
As well as taking away hints and tips for how to present themselves, the team learnt the importance of meaning what you say and using body energy to appear confident and deliver a great performance. They also experienced how feedback affected their confidence and performance, which is important to apply back in the workplace.
The team took part in exercises where they had collective responsibility for the output, which encouraged them to work together and gain greater empathy for their colleagues. Their shared experience enabled them to get to know each other better and have fun together.
"The whole session worked really well. The workshop was just what we were looking for and we’ve had positive feedback from the team. Many thanks indeed!"
